Food Photography Is Never Just About Food.

Food photography is never just about the food. It's about people!
When I tell people that I'm a photographer they always ask what kind of photography I do, often with the thought in mind that they're overdue for some family photos.
Folks are usually pretty flabbergasted or straight up confused when I tell them I do food and agricultural photography. They often ask, "that's all?"
I think the problem is that my reply is misleading. Yes, I do food photography and I do agricultural photography, but the truth is, I do photography along the entire food chain, I'm an actual Farm to Table photographer! I start in the field and I end up at the plate, but it turns out that there is so so much that happens in between those two points.
It wasn't until I realized that I wasn't JUST an agricultural photographer or JUST a food photographer that I really found my direction in photography. Food and farming are incredible, and honestly, my obsessions, but what makes them so important is the people behind them. The people who grow the food, make the meals, the people who are fed by it.
So the truth is, I actually do a really wide range of photography! I do landscape, lifestyle, portraits, food, and industrial photography, and it's all centered around food and celebrating the stories of the people along its path to your plate or glass.
